Break Out Your Pom-Poms

“Tell me about it. I bet it’s going to be a mad success.”
What do you think motivates the wet blanket? A true desire to tell you the pitfalls of what you are embarking on to protect you from disappointment or dare I say it, “jealousy?”`
Do the wet blankets know who they are?
No, I don't think they do and the women I asked, "Do you have any wet blankets in your life?" all answered that they would like to think they do not, that they stay away from that personality type.
I'd like to think the same but I have had a few run-ins with naysayers who can't understand why I would want to write personal stories and put them on the internet or wonder aloud what I expect to accomplish by doing so.
I don't answer them out loud...but my inner voice has alot to say.
That voice reminds me to think before I talk, to banish my inner wet blanket and to break out the pom-poms for the Vuvs in my life who are evolving and embarking on change. That inner voice helps me continue to discover the kind of friend I want to be.
That inner voice also says a silent thank you to the wet blankets...because a cheerleader can ignite a spark in us but sometimes a wet blanket is the motivation we need to make that spark a flame.
Here's to continuing to discover who you want to be.

Leslie's insights are "spot on". I wish there was an advocate with her perceptive reasoning for us men. With that said, I still reap the benefits of her wisdom and smile boyishly with her humor. Cheers for our Cheerleader. Frank
three cheers for cheerleaders - we need to be positive - good things happen to good people!!!
