Learning To Use My Intuition

Have you ever experienced a time when the universe was obviously trying to make certain you got the message it was sending your way?  It’s like you’re driving along on the Freeway of Life, radio channel surfing and suddenly this huge billboard appears, with lights and banners flashing and flying, and your name on it.

‘Allllliiisooonnn, pay attention, are you LISTENING?’  YES, I think I GOT it.  Thanks.

This week it has been talking to me about opportunity, being open to opportunities.  And learning to listen to my intuition so I recognize them for what they are, opportunities. Has some seemingly random person or event ever appeared on your scene that you almost overlooked, but they/it turn(s) out to be anything BUT random?

This past weekend I spent three very long days in a seminar called the Psychology of Investing, at a local real estate school.  I’ve been considering getting my license as something that, on the practical side, will give me the flexibility of putting me on firmer financial footing, but will let me continue to doing what I love, WomenBloom, reinvention and the rest.

But I was just exploring the real estate bit and I was chafing at the idea of sitting inside for eleven hours, three days in a row learning, I thought, to crunch numbers. Ugh, it would have been so easy not to go, but something (my intuition?) kept nagging me to go.

Well.

This course taught as much about how the wealthy think about and behave with their money (which is why they are rich) as it was investing in real estate.  It was EXACTLY what I needed to hear at this moment in time.  I’m already thinking differently.  And, guess what?  A small money making opportunity selling the services of my web developers has popped onto my radar screen.  I almost declined that, too much on my plate, but in the course of my real estate snooping, I’ve come across two people who need websites.  Now there is some potential cash flow I can use for something else.

I agree with Allison at the subtly of the message that comes from our guts/intuition. That's all the more reason that we HAVE TO not commit to doing too much. It's very hard to hear the message when we are running around completing too many things.

I'm glad you buckled down and went to that class! Sometimes the universe whispers and sometimes it beats us over the head! It's amazing how things work out if we let them! You better follow this path and see where it leads!

Hey Allison...I enjoy your writing style...thanks for putting yourself out here! Listening to your gut can be interesting can't it. I have to say that 95% of the time that I didn't listen to my intuition....I should have! And yet I still find myself struggling with it sometimes...listen, listen, listen to that little voice. I've been to a couple of Dianna Amorde's workshop specifically about listening to your intuition...quite revealing! http://www.inspiredleap.com. Thanks!

There is no such thing as a random event. I really believe that, at the same time as I poohpooh The Secret. I love that you could back up a little and see the opportunity for what it was. All too often we get so focused on What We're Meant To Be Doing that we don't pay attention to what we actually are doing. Great post!
