I had an epiphany about how to turn the economy around. "Think big!" My "big" discovery came while listening to an inspirational speaker. She discussed the importance of discovering your passion and the rest will follow. She also emphasized the need to "think big." Why limit yourself? One gal mentioned how she wanted to sell 2,500 books a month. Her friend asked her, "Why not 25,000 a second?" What does it hurt to think big? What do you lose?
When you find your passion in life, you can't think small! Why not be big and passionate? What is stopping you? Fear of not realizing that big or small dream? So wait a second ... you're upset because your "small" dream failed? Is that crazy or what? Someone has to be successful in life, why not you? And when I say success I don't mean you're rich - although riches tend to follow big things. You measure your success by whatever makes you happy.
If you have hit mid-life and feel this nagging knot start to form in your stomach – a reminder that you’re getting older and no closer to finding the magic elixir to make you happy, then it’s time to be different. You must quit getting stuck in the routine of daily living where you lose track of who you are or who you really want to be. Quit getting lost in the deluge of routine – driving the kids to and from school, taking care of family members, working for thankless employers, or feeling depressed for no clear reason. You will not find joy or pleasure if you allow yourself to be caught in minutia. When you embrace big thoughts your life will quit ebbing away but instead flow back to you.
When we think big and go big, it's exciting! We can see our goals and live in the moment-by-moment steps that lead toward those goals. Going big doesn't mean getting caught up in the end game either. Going for big means live your life to the fullest and find satisfaction in the daily moments. I sold a book! Yeah! I sold a sponsorship! Yeah! I wrote an article! Oh boy! I finished my new book! Yippee! Look at all of my good fortune in just a week. Is that because I'm more fortunate than you? Is that because I am a better person? NO!
