AMC’s  Mad Men  deliciously depicts the blurry sexual, political and social lines of the early 1960s—back when fashion never looked so good. Here’s how you can dress the part, whether you want to channel your inner trophy wife, shrinking violet or va-va-vamp.

Beautiful Betty

We can’t help but love the trophy-wife look of Betty (played by January Jones). Sure, we like the idea of a trophy husband, too, but we’d love to slip on this tailored, floral sheath and pretend, if even for a half-hour, that our biggest role was simply to look like the prim lady of the house.

(Keep going to get Betty’s look.)

I DO love the Mad Men look, however, I feel that the examples of modern vintage styles used for this article were too 'Peggy Sue goes to prom'- too teen and whipped chiffon. I am a vintage collector, and I know there are wonderful ,classic and REAL vintage fashions out there! The stylists for wardrobe on the set of Mad Men find and dress the actors in authentic period clothing...we can do the same! Check vintage stores in your city or find them online. ;)
