Tory Burch knows better than anyone that one woman’s small business idea can turn into something big. Burch launched her eponymous brand in 2004, and since then it has expanded to include clothes, shoes, handbags and jewelry (racking up some big fashion awards along the way). Inspired to help other women achieve their business goals, the designer’s Tory Burch Foundation has joined forces with ACCION USA, the nation’s largest micro-lender, to provide loans and business support to women. “Many women in this country have the same small-business dreams I had and are working just as hard to realize those dreams,” Burch said. The program’s efforts begin in Los Angeles and will eventually expand to other cities. The way we look at it, a Tory Burch purchase today could actually help support the next-big-thing of tomorrow.
