It’s a family affair

When sisters Landon and Heath Slane grew weary from searching for silver jewelry that possessed the same high quality and details of the gold jewelry they loved, they decided to start designing it themselves. The Slane & Slane brand, which launched 12 years ago, is a bi-coastal endeavor (Heath is in Los Angeles and Landon is in New York) that seamlessly combines both of the women’s fashion and lifestyle backgrounds. Their jewelry designs are rooted in childhood influences, including travel, architecture and spirituality. In the latest twist on their innovative designs, they’ve been dabbling with pearls and mixed metals (e.g., the melding of 18 karat gold and sterling silver into one piece). As the collection has grown, so has their fan base. The jewelry, which ranges in price from $125 to $10,000, is available at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and more than 90 independent jewelers and specialty stores nationwide. Check out slaneandslane.com for more information.
