Fall's 10 Best Skincare Products
Clarins Super Restorative Replenishing Comfort Mask
Touted as both an exfoliator and a hydrator, this mask left most testers feeling their skin was smoother and more radiant, at least temporarily.
“My skin had a nice glow after I washed off the mask, and I felt like I got a decent moisture boost.”

Skinceuticals A.G.E Eye Complex
This eye cream promises both immediate results (optical diffusing particles diminish the look of fine lines and tone down redness) and long-term benefits like firmer skin and less puffiness.
One tester, a book editor said most eye creams leave her looking like she’s been crying “but this product was different. I woke up with far less puffiness each morning and had no irritation.” Another said she felt she’d found the holy grail: “I have tried a zillion products and this is by far the best. The lines beside my eyes smoothed out, and my puffiness has disappeared.”

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex
Introduced in 1982, this continues to be one of Lauder’s best-selling antiaging products. The latest incarnation utilizes new technology to maximize potency-and to boost your skin’s ability to shield itself against the ravages of free radicals caused by smoke and pollution.
Some testers were already Advanced Night Repair users and sang its praises “I’ve been using this serum for and its minimized the number of dark spots and wrinkles I’ve developed, one said” Testers new to the product were also enthusiastic; one noted, “Since I started using it, my under eyes are less crepey.”

Aveda Green Science Perfecting Cleanser
This was the only face wash to land in our skin care top 10. While it’s hard to get psyched about a product whose biggest accomplishment is taking off your eye makeup when there were wrinkle-smoothing creams in the running, this cleanser worked so well and it was such a pleasure to use our testers gave it top marks anyway.
“I loved the mild scent and the fact that it took off stubborn mascara. It also left no residue and my skin felt fresh said one.”
Lancome Absolue Precious Cells Advanced Regenerating and Replenishing Cream SPF15
This daytime moisturizer promises plumper, smoother skin after just one week and most of our testers said they noticed a difference that quickly.
“I love this! Despite being a fairly rich cream, it absorbed quickly, had a nice light scent, and improved my sk in after just two weeks,” one said. Another said she appreciated that it had SPF15 and provided plenty of hydration without being sticky.

Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash
Out resters approached this this product- billed as the most moisturizing body wash ever- with some skepticism. But the rich cleanser won them over, even those who said their skin was very flaky.
“This product was awesome: super sudsy, and you need very little to wash your whole body. It left my skin so moist I didn’t have to apply body lotion after my shower, " one said. “My skin is very dry and this product did make a difference” another added.
Murad Active Radiance Serum
This firming, skin-tone evening, antioxidant serum was praised for its light texture and “cooling” sensation; a tester with sensitive skin found it pleasingly gentle. "It softened my fine lines and made my pores less obvious after just a few days

La Mer The Hydrating Facial
Our testers loved wearing this mask nearly as much as the skin-smoothing results they saw afterward. “I couldn’t do anything while it was on for fear the mask would fall off- a plus for a working woman who never takes 10 minutes to relax,” one said.
Others swore they saw fewer visible lines after using this. “It’s the best mask I’ve tried in or out of a spa. When I removed it, my face wrinkles were gone,” wrote one who added. “P.S. If you have any of this leftover, I’d be happy to take it off your hands.”

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum
The original Boots Protect & Perfect Serum caused an uproar in the UK when it launched three years ago and Target, the sole distributor of the line in the U.S., was sold out for months when the antiaging serum came stateside in 2007. If our tester’s reactions are any indication, this new, updated version will be equally well recieved.
“I loved it on the first application; it works. I saw improvement in my skin after just a few days,” raved one testers. Another noted, “After two weeks, my rosacea is more subdued,” and a third said, “I saw amazing results right away, especially around my eyes.”
