Still clean at the beginning...
Was it hard? For some of us, it was a challenge like nothing we’d ever endured.

On Saturday, September 19, my team and I accomplished a feat we'd been training for and dreaming about for three months: the USMC Mud Run in Columbia, South Carolina. Our trainer, Janine McGann, prepared us for a race that was like no other. We ran through nearly five miles of mud and pushed ourselves through 29 obstacles.
We're off!
We pushed ourselves physically and mentally…

The finish line!
Being able to cross that finish line, with one of our teammates on a stretcher, was a thrill. Half of us wanted to run back on the course to do it all over again. Some, like me, were a little dumbstruck at what we achieved. All of us are planning to do it again next year, and finish even stronger.
