You’ve earned enough mileage around the block to warrant high expectations. Let’s face it, after 40, there are certain things you should not have to put up with.
1) He spends more time with his Blackberry than youThere’s nothing worse than a man with a crackberry addiction (or an iPhone obsession, for that matter). So what if the Yankees just tied the game in the bottom of the 9th? Checking your mobile (especially during dinner) is rude.
2) He mentions his ex-wife on your first date
Any man who constantly refers his to ex is obviously still harboring feelings. Golden rule: if he’s got enough baggage to qualify for a personal bell boy, split the check and make off while your sanity is still in tact.
3) He has a bad temper
We’ve seen enough Lifetime movies to know what happens when a woman stays in an abusive relationship. Does he loose his cool over trivial things? Outbursts over spilled milk should be taken with much heed.
4) He doesn’t believe men and women are equal
Ladies, welcome to the 21st century. Anyone who expects you to tie on an apron and play Donna Reed has another thing coming. If he's intimidated by your successful career or asks you to keep opinions to yourself, politely show him the door.
5) He’s insecure
Insecurity is a multifaceted issue. A man who is insecure with one thing in his life is probably not sure of his abilities in the workplace, in social settings, or in a relationship. Confidence is sexy-- and as a MORE woman, you need a man who’s comfortable in his own skin.
