Sarah Palin's Big Week

Whether or not Sarah Palin is the hope of the Republican party going forward, there's no doubt that she's a godsend to booksellers, TV shows and bloggers everywhere. Her memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life, isn't being published until Tuesday (Nov. 17), but it's already No. 1 on Amazon (selling at the discounted price of $9.00), and the former Alaska governor will be omnipresent on TV this week. Monday she's doing Oprah (watch early video of some highlights here), and then we'll see her with Barbara Walters, an interview that will roll out in pieces over several days, starting with Tuesday's Good Morning America and ending with an airing of the full chat on Friday's 20/20According to People.com, Palin tells Walters that she was “devastated” and “shocked” when she found out her daughter Bristol was pregnant, saying she didn’t realize the teen was even sexually active. The two will also delve into the 2008 campaign; according to this New York Times review, Palin has harsh words for some of McCain's top aides.

Meanwhile, Huffington Post reports that the Associated Press did some fact-checking of an advance copy of Going Rogue, finding, as HuffPo puts it, some "familiar claims from the 2008 presidential campaign that haven't become any truer over time." Palin took to Facebook to respond, writing, “Amazingly, but not surprisingly, the AP somehow nabbed a copy of the book before it was released. They’re now erroneously reporting on the book's contents and are repeating many of the same things they spewed during the campaign and afterwards. We've heard 11 writers are engaged in this opposition research, er, ‘fact checking’ research!"

Yesterday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton weighed in on the Rogue buzz, responding to a section in the memoir in which Palin praises Clinton for her hard work on the campaign trail, but says that the two would disagree on many issues if they ever sat down for coffee. "I absolutely would look forward to having coffee," the Washington Post reports Clinton saying on Meet the Press. "Obviously we're going to hear a lot more from her in the upcoming weeks with her book coming out and I would look forward to having a chance to actually get to meet her.”

Don't miss MORE's coverage of the Palin phenomenon over the past year: three writers from the right answer the question, Is Sarah Palin a Plus for Women?, plus What It's LIke to Go Shooting With Sarah Palin and No Bunk: Palin Puts Obama to Shame.

Isn`t it okay to make money from writeing a book? I like her and I believe she is honest and I want to get to know her better. So, a book that`s a very good thing. It shouldn`t be a problem for anyone. Just don`t buy her book if you don`t like her,and she rubs you the wrong way. When people call names and belittle it is hard to listen to their side.Disagreeing is another thing, it is okay to have a difference of opinion. It`s how we learn different points of view.

Sarah Palin's primary objective in writing a book is MONEY...certainly not truth.
