Where will the Reinvention Convention be held?
In New York City at Pier Sixty, which is part of the Chelsea Piers complex at West 23rd Street and the Hudson River on Manhattan’s West Side.
How can I register for the Reinvention Convention?

Registration for the Reinvention Convention is $280 until August 5, when the price goes to $295.
What’s included in the price?
The Reinvention Convention is an all-day event with speakers and panelists including Editor-in-Chief Lesley Jane Seymour, event emcee Mika Brezinsky, keynote speaker and former First Lady Mrs. Laura W. Bush, Nancy Brinker, Sheila Johnson, Jean Chatzky, Dr. Gail Saltz, Barbara Corcoran, Wall Street Journal Senior Editor Julia Angwin and more. All speakers are subject to last-minute change. Breakfast and lunch are also included, as well as a gift bag. In addition, coffee, tea, soft drinks and assorted refreshments will be available throughout the day, including during the morning and afternoon breaks.
Can I cancel my registration once I’ve paid?
No. All registrations are final.
How should I dress?
We recommend that you dress comfortably.

What time should I arrive?
Registration begins at 7:00 am (on the early side because we have such a full day). Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30, and MORE Editor-in-Chief Lesley Jane Seymour and MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski will make opening remarks at approximately 8:00 am. The event’s first keynote speaker, former First Lady Mrs. Laura W. Bush, will begin her remarks at about 8:15am.
What should I bring with me to the event?
At check-in, you will receive a program with schedule and bios of our speakers, a notebook and a pen, so you don’t need to bring those items from home. Upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation. This email confirmation will be required for entry along with a photo ID.
What if I’m late?
No problem. We’ll be glad to help you join the program of your choice in progress.
Will I be able to come back to the event if I need to leave for a while?
Yes. Attendees will enter and exit through the main entrance of Pier Sixty. Exit and re-entry are permitted through these doors only.
Are cameras allowed?
Yes, BUT photography, audio and video recording will NOT be permitted during the sessions. Attendees will be required to check any video recording equipment upon arrival.
Are cell phones allowed?
Yes, but cell phones should be turned off or turned to vibrate during all sessions.
Are computers allowed?
Yes. We will also have a few computers stationed in the Reinvention Expo area so that you can check your email during the day.
Will there be a coat/bag check?
Yes. The coat/bag check is located just inside the entrance to Pier Sixty, adjacent to the registration desk. However, we do recommend that you bring as little as possible with you to the event.
Will the event be handicap accessible?
Yes, Pier Sixty is wheelchair accessible. Contact us should you need visual and/or hearing-impaired assistance at MoreReinvention@more.com.
Is there an age restriction on attendees?
Yes. You must be 18 years or older to attend the Reinvention Convention.
Can I bring my baby/child or pet with me to the event?
Babies and children under 18 are not permitted at the event. Pets are not permitted at Pier Sixty (with the exception of service animals).
Are there facilities for lactation?
Yes.
Can men attend?
Yes.
Will there be a gift bag and, if so, what will be in it?
Yes. The gift bag will include gifts from our sponsors and the current issue of MORE.
Will food be served?
Yes, a full seated breakfast and lunch will be served, plus coffee, tea, soft drinks and refreshments will be available all day.
How long is each session?
Most sessions will run for 45 minutes. Remarks by keynote speakers will be approximately 45 minutes in length, but the time allotted for breakfast and lunch is 90 minutes in each case in order to accommodate food service. There will also be two breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, when you can visit the Reinvention Expo and interact with other guests, MORE editors and our sponsors.
Will there be assigned seating at the event?
No. All seating will be first-come, first-served.
Are the sessions going to be interactive?
Each speaker or panel moderator will determine the degree of interactivity at her session.
How many people do you expect at the event and at each session?
We anticipate that approximately 700 or more people will attend the Reinvention Convention.
Can I meet or get autographs from the speakers?
It’s unlikely given the number of attendees we anticipate at the event. We may try to arrange for book signings or meet-and-greets for a few of our speakers.
I don’t live in New York. Where should I stay?

Will there be Reinvention Conventions in other cities?
Yes. We are currently planning a Reinvention Convention in Washington, DC in March 2010 and in Chicago in May 2010. Check back soon for more details.
