Winners' Circle: 2005 MORE Marathon
Larisa Michailova, 36, breaks through the tape at the half-marathon finish. Michailova was the individual winner of the half-marathon with a time of 1:16:58. Her half-marathon partner, Zofia Wieciorkowska, 42, finished less than 9 minutes later, at 1:25:39, putting the team in second place with a combined time of 2:42:37.
Veena Reddy, 26, sails toward the end, cheered on by Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to run the Boston Marathon wearing official numbers. Reddy came in second in the half-marathon with a time of 1:17:17. Reddy’s running partner was Carmen Trancoso, 46, the third-place finisher. The women’s combined time of 2:36:24 made them the winning team for the half-marathon event.

Switzer, 57, is the winner of the 1974 New York City Marathon and was the first woman to run the Boston Marathon wearing official numbers. “This event shows that age has no limit,” said Waitz.
