Golf Clinic for Women
I recently attended the LPGA Golf Clinic for Women.  I got to attend the clinic because I entered More's contest to win entry into the clinic and I WON!!!

What a wonderful experience and a fantastic group of women.  As all you business women know we are trying to thrive in a man's world and the game of goldf is considered a male dominant sport.  The clinic was all about improving and/or learning the game to empower you to get out there with the men on the course and conduct business.

The LPGA pros that instructed the groups were awesome, espesially the pro with my group.  She kept it simple with tips that you would remember when you get out there on your own.  I had a group of absolutely charming women and am thrilled to death that I got the opportuntiy to meet them.  I was able to improve my golf game, meet some wonderful women and enjoy the "hottest" day of the year!  :-)

I want to recommend this clinic to any women who wishes to improve her golf game in a warm, friendly and inviting environment.  It is an event of women supporting women!  It is also a great opportunity to be part of a charitable event for a wonderful cause.

At the end of the day there was an opportunity to network with other professional women, a silent auction as well as drinks and snacks.

I want to thank More Magazine for presenting this wonderful opportunity to their readers.

PS When I spoke of shorter backswing, I meant that's what I do, and it works very well. I'm a 19.5 handicap.

Marla, practice by yourself. Sign up for one lesson with a pro and see how the chemistry is. If good, sign up for a few more. NOT more than a few at a time! If not good, try someone else. After the lesson, go to a driving range or have a kind, supportive friend take you out to a course to practice what you just learned. If at a course, go in afternoon when it's not busy - less pressure on you. Each lesson takes a few weeks to groove into your brain. Biggest tip: When you hit the ball, try to keep your left arm from bending. If you can keep it straight, you're more likely to hit it solidly. Also, the bigger the backswing, the more you are likely to get offline and not hit the ball solid. I do this and always shoot in low/mid 90s. Lastly, the harder you swing, the more likely you are to screw it up. We can talk about this as much as you want. You can email me on Facebook if you like. PS: I WILL NOT LET MY HUSBAND give me tips unless I ask. Many women feel similar about their sweeties.

I had to comment as I too won a day with the LPGA golf clinic, here in Avon CT. Our day was yesterday and it was a great day. Not only did we get to learn some great skills to practice and meet some wonderful women, but the LPGA teaching professional (Alexandra Colantoni in my case) did a great job giving specific personalized help to each of the 5 of us in my group. THe afternoon playing on the course was invaluable. Everything, from the food, networking reception, gift bag, etc was top notch and I'd recommend this event to every woman who golfs, or would like to golf. Our event had a number of first-timers at the clinic (myself included) and quite a few beginner golfers as well. Everyone enjoyed a great day...perhaps myself the Most, as I wouldn't have been there without winning the day's event thru More magazine!

Bring your girls into the circle. Invite them to read, write, comment and review for themselves.
