We’ve heard of people being kicked off airplanes for wearing too little clothing or too saggy pants or being too heavy or claiming to have a bomb surgically implanted in their body. Now we can add wearing a T-shirt with the F-word on it to the list.

MSNBC reports a woman was exiting an American Airlines flight earlier this week while wearing a T-shirt reading “If I wanted the government in my womb, I’d f____ a senator” when the captain allegedly told her she had to change into another shirt before she could board her connecting flight.

“When I was leaving the plane, the captain stepped off with me and told me I should not have been allowed to board the plane in D.C. and needed to change before boarding my next flight,” the unidentified woman tells the blog RH Reality Check, according to the network. “This conversation led to me missing my connecting flight.”

American Airlines tells MSNBC it was the F-bomb that led to the confrontation.

“The [pro-choice] message is irrelevant to our policy and had no bearing in our crew’s decision to ask her to cover up the F-word,” Tim Smith, spokesman for the airline, tells the network via e-mail. “The outcome would have been exactly the same had the message been anti-abortion.”
