You Grimace at the Gym
Straining your face while lifting weights can etch fine lines on your face over time. But don’t make this your excuse to avoid the gym.
Shelly Knight, veteran fitness instructor and West Coast Director of Training for workout class Physique 57 offers this advice: "Relax your forehead and eyes and leave a small space between your lips. This ensures you won’t grind your teeth when an exercise becomes challenging. Remembering to breathe inward has a calming effect targeting the neck and shoulders which takes the strain off of your face."
