The fishtail braid works great with lots of different textures and lengths of hair. Follow these easy step-by-step instructions, and you'll get the style in a matter of minutes.
- Start with dirty or clean, dry hair. If your hair is fine, add bulk with volumizing mousse and blow dry. With a comb, divide the hair in half. Clip one section away for later.
- Working your first section, start by utilizing a fishtail braid technique. Split the section of hair in half. Take a small section of hair from the left side of the hair, and incorporate it under the right side. Now, take a small section of hair from the right side, and incorporate it under the left side. Repeat these two steps until you reach the ends of the hair. Secure it with an elastic band. Repeat the fishtail braid technique on the other section of hair. - Now that you have both of your sections of hair fishtail-braided, drape the hair over to the other side. Take one of your braided sections and drape over the right on the top of the forehead and to the other side of the head. Secure it into place with some bobby pins. If you hair is long, your braid might reach to the back of your head which is perfectly OK to overlap braids. Now, take the last braid and drape across the back of the head to the right. You want to make sure you drape it fairly low near the hair line. Secure it as you go with bobby pins.
- If you like a little softness around your face, gently pull your hair around your hair line. Finish this look off with a medium hold hair spray.
Have fun with this look, and stay flirty, my friends.
