Jenny Packham's Old Hollywood Glam
1 / 5VIEW ALL
Jenny Packham's New York Fashion Week show was like stepping back in time to Old Hollywood. The designer's inspiration came from Marilyn Monroe and other "screen sirens," and we saw the influence in everything from the retro gowns to the voluminous, '50s curls.
Antonio Corral Calero, global creative director for Morrocanoil, prepped the models' hair by applying a combination of Moroccanoil Treatment Light and Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to damp hair for shine and moisture. Next, add Morrocanoil Root Boost directly to the roots for lift. After prepping the hair rough do a rough blow dry upside down (think the opposite of the smooth, meticulous blowouts you get at the salon) then brush through dry hair gently to tame it a bit.
Once your hair is dry, create a deep side part and apply Morrocanoil Heat Styling Protection in 1-inch sections. Next, recreate the bouncy curls with a 1-inch curling iron on the back sections of hair and a 3/4-inch curling iron on the top and side sections. Secure the curls with a light misting of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium. To keep the curls looking soft, brush through them with a boar bristle brush. Then apply a dime-size portion of Morrocanoil Hydrating Styling Cream for texture.
Mara Hoffman's Roughed Up Braids
2 / 5VIEW ALL
The "lived in, destroyed desert" braids at Mara Hoffman were the perfect depiction of messy-on-purpose. We'd wear this boho look for an easy vacation or hairstyle, or even for a night out with an edgy makeup look. This multipurpose hairstyle was created by Nick Irwin, global creative director for Catwalk by TIGI.
Irwin started the look by spraying clean, dry hair with Catwalk by TIGI Transforming Dry Shampoo to create a matte texture. Next, separate your hair into three sections. Gather the back section into a loose low ponytail and secure with an elastic. Create a three-strand braid with the back section and secure with an elastic at the bottom. Use your fingers to loosen the braid up, allowing layers to fall out and frame the face. The more face-framing layers you can create, the more of a faux bob look you can create. Next, wrap each of the side sections around your center braid and secure them with an elastic. Loosen the finished braid and spray with Catwalk by TIGI Session Series Work It Hairspray. Note: The messier the braid, the more couture the look.
Georgine's Big Volume '70s Curls

Ric Pipino for Alterna Haircare cited "opulence without the fuss" as the hairstyle inspiration at Georgine. We couldn't get enough of the '70s style disco curls that are surprisingly easy to DIY at home.
Start by applying Alterna Haircare Bamboo Volume 2-in-1 Volumizer on damp hair from the roots to the tips. Blow dry hair on high heat, then liberally spray Alterna Haircare Caviar Perfect Texture Finishing Spray for added texture. Curl hair with a 1-inch curling iron, working from the ends to the perimeter of your head. You want to leave the crown area untouched, for a softer look. Once you're done curling, flip your head over and light brush the curled section at the base for more volume. Spray with more Alterna Haircare Caviar Perfect Texture Finishing Spray. Next, to lock in moisture, apply a small amount of Alterna Haircare Caviar CC Cream (Editor's note: A little of this product goes a long way, so be conservative).
Finish your look with a flexible hold hairspray and add a bit of Alterna Haircare Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist to the ends for added shine. Keep some dry shampoo on hand, because we're guessing these voluminous curls will last for days with a quick spritz at the roots.

Rachel Zoe's Braided Ponytails
4 / 5VIEW ALL
"Braids" and "spring" are practically synonymous, so we always have an eye out for new styles. Enter Rachel Zoe's spring/summer presentation at New York Fashion Week, where we spotted this intricate braid/ponytail hybrid and fell in love. L'Oréal Professionnel artist Pepper Pastor created the looks with '60s inspiration in mind.
To recreate Pastor's look, start by prepping your hair with L'Oréal Professionnel Densité to add density and detangle strands. Next, take two sections of hair 1 inch from either side of your part and make two small, tight braids. Make sure to leave the section of hair between your hairline and the braids loose to frame the face. Then gather the ends of the braids and tie them together with the rest of your hair into a low ponytail. Take the section you left loose near the hairline and secure the ends over your braids and into the ponytail.
Finish your braided hairstyle with a shine spray like L'Oréal Professionnel Perfect Shimmer and hold with L'Oréal Professionnel Infinium 3 hairspray. As Rachel Zoe would say, "I die."
Marissa Webb's Braided Pompadours
5 / 5VIEW ALL
Marissa Webb's edgy spring/summer collection featured lots of leather, a zillion ways to wear a trench and the coolest studded brogues we've ever seen. Braided pompadour hairstyles created by Tresemmé stylist Jeanie Syfu helped maintain the "downtown" feel of the collection.
To create the fullness necessary for a good pompadour, start with Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Mousse on damp hair. Syfu rough blow dried just the ends to add volume and texture. Next use a round brush as you blow dry to create fullness at the crown.
Once your hair is dry, use the end of a tailcomb to section off the center portion of your hair 3/4 of the way down and clip it up. Create a Dutch braid (otherwise known as a reverse French braid) on either side of your head using the loose hair, starting at the temple and working your way back to the nape of the neck. Secure with clear elastics.
Next, mist the top section of your hair with Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Hair Spray and brush lightly along the part. Now with the middle section of your hair start a French braid, leaving volume in the front and at the base. Secure the braid with a clear elastic.
Gather all three braids and twist them into a low bun, leaving the ends loose. Finally, brush the complete French braid upward to create Syfu's "windblown effect" and spray with more Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Hair Spray.
