Chic, Easy Updos from Milan’s Runways

If the latest fashion week has taught us anything so far, it's that hair will be low-fuss, minimal, and easygoing come spring. We're all for that, but why wait until the weather starts warming up again? These two updos, from Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau, are perfect for any time of year when you want a chic, sleek style.

“This look is very Sicilian, inspired by Sophia Loren,” says Guido, who created the look for the Dolce & Gabbana show. “We pulled the hair loosely back into a French twist and it looks as if the woman was dancing all night.” Photo credit: Redken

To get this style, apply Redken Thickening Lotion All-Over Body Builder to damp hair and dry about 90 percent of the way, without using a brush. Next, apply Tausle Whip Soft Texturizing Cream-Wax to the front of the hair to preserve its natural movement, and let it dry completely. Back-brush the hair for additional texture and volume, then use your fingers to comb the hair into a French twist, and secure with bobby pins. Photo credit: Redken

Guido suggests keeping the hair loose around the face, so you can keep the hair’s natural texture and movement. For hold, finish the style with a spritz of Fashion Work Versatile Working Spray. Photo credit: Redken
