Luckily, makeup artist Jenn Streicher let slip the deets of how Emily got so gorgeous.
1. Start with the Skin
The foundation of any spectacular beauty look is creamy porcelain skin. On Emily, Streicher prepped with silky, rich Crème de la Mer and an application of Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum, which moisturizes and evens skin tone as it creates a base for foundation to cling to. Then she smoothed on Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Finish Creamy Foundation and dusted on a light coat of Yves Saint Laurent Semi-Loose Powder.
2. Go Easy On the Eyes
Streicher skipped eye shadow in favor of a bold black liner. She used Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner in True Black along the top lashes only, winging the tail end of the eyeliner upward. Then she perfected Emily’s brows with Cle de Peau Eyebrow Pencil in #101, a medium brown, and finished with two coats of Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara in Intense Black.
3. Don’t Skimp On the Standouts
The real stars of this look are Emily’s perfectly flushed cheeks and bold pink lips. Contrasted with Emily’s dark hair and the vibrant green of the gown, they provide the perfect dash of color. Streicher used By Terry Rose de Rose Sheer Liquid Blush in Coral Rose, which has a gel texture to give the most natural-looking glow. On Emily’s lips, Streicher used CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Spellbound. When applying a knockout color like hot pink, red, or purple, always make sure to exfoliate lips first using a scrub like Sara Happ The Lip Scrub to slough away dead skin. And for the most precise line, apply the lipstick using a lip brush, not the tube.
