Cobalt Blue Eyeliner:...

Cobalt Blue Eyeliner: How to Rock the Trend

Though bold and intimidating to some, cobalt blue eyeliner can be a huge pick-me-up for the eyes! Here are my favorite ways to sneak it in to your look seamlessly.

If you hear blue eyeliner and immediately equate it with first-class tickets on the hot-mess express, I'm here to show you how wrong you are! I used to be über-hesitant about using any blue in the eye area, but once I discovered two fabulous ways to wear cobalt blue eyeliner, I was sold for life. Now it's one of my favorite light-up-your-face looks. And it works for all eye colors, too!

How To Wear Cobalt Blue Eyeliner

The easiest and most subtle way to wear blue is to line the inner rim of your lower lid with it. It makes the whites of your eyes appear whiter and adds interest without going overboard. I like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Chaos, but a great budget alternative is L'Oreal Colour Riche Khol in Cobalt.

A bolder, more intense way to rock cobalt is by lining the top lash line with a thin-to-think line and winging it out at the corners. You won't believe the impact this has. You can keep the line thin and make your wing more subtle too. Sephora Colorful Waterproof Eyeliner 24 HR Wear in Pool Party is perfect for this.

When wearing cobalt blue eyeliner, make sure to keep the rest of your eye neutral. I like to use warm brown colors, primarily matte, to really set off that brilliant blue.

For lips, since orange is blue's complementary color, I love a peachy gloss on the lips. Steer clear of anything too bubble gum-y on the lips and cheeks as it can read a bit Barbie with the blue. Give blues a try this summer!

I live and breathe this stuff and if you could eat makeup, I'd probably do that too.
