Holiday Makeup: Soft Evergreen Smokey Eye

Smokey eyes are huge this season. But not all smoldering looks have to be black or gray. Try a twist on the trend with an evergreen shadow.

Start this eye makeup look with a primer to minimize smudging or creasing of the color. Sweep a pale gold eyeshadow on the lid from lash line to crease. Then use an emerald color from the lash line to the crease. Use the same emerald along your lower lash line. To deepen the evergreen look, choose a dark green shadow and apply it at the outer corner, blending it inward. Highlight your brow bone with a matte vanilla shade. Smudge a black pencil eyeliner along your upper lash line and the inner rim of your lower lash line. Apply mascara to your bottom and top lashes. Next curl your lashes and add extra drama with falsies. If you're going to be out all night, try half lashes, which are more comfortable to wear than a full set. Sweep a peachy nude shade across your lips, and you're holiday perfect.

The rest of the time, I'm creating content for my makeup and beauty blog, Wake Up for Makeup, reading product reviews, watching tutorial videos and reading makeup artist books. I live and breathe this stuff and if you could eat makeup, I'd probably do that too.
