Metallic Gold Smokey Eye Makeup Look

If there's ever at time to sparkle, it's the holiday season. Metallics are huge for winter, bring the trend to your holiday makeup with this golden smokey eye.

Start this sparkling look by applying a gold cream shadow over the entire lid. This creates a base for the next step: gold powder pigment. Press a loose gold pigment from lash line to crease. Make sure to hold a tissue under your eye to catch shadow fall out. Next brush a matte black shadow onto your eye's outer corner and blend it toward to your crease. Add a little of the gold shadow to the inner corner of your lid to catch the light. Then line your lower lash line with the matte black shadow. Add even more drama with black liquid liner on your top lash line. Next apply mascara on your top and bottom lashes, starting with your bottom. Then curl your lashes and glue on falsies for extra drama. Top off your holiday look with a berry pink lip color and shimmery gloss.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, but it's creating works of art on faces that I love most. By day, I am a Senior Education Consultant for Sephora as well as a freelance makeup artist. The rest of the time, I'm creating content for my makeup and beauty blog, Wake Up for Makeup, reading product reviews, watching tutorial videos and reading makeup artist books. I live and breathe this stuff and if you could eat makeup, I'd probably do that too. I also love painting abstracts, running, attending music festivals and acting weird with my husband and our two awesome cats. I'm here to tell you what products are legit, how to better use the ones you have, give you ideas to shake up your routine and guide you through some fun tutorials I know you can dominate.
