Holiday Makeup Product Preview: 5 Faves for This Season

Today, I'm talking new holiday makeup collections. I don’t know about you, but I’m always eager to see all the new holiday makeup this time of year as we get closer to Christmas and the New Year. It’s usually around this time the collections are unveiled, and it’s always a treat to see what festive goodies are coming our way! I’ve got a little preview of my favorite holiday makeup including coveted collections that have just been released.

Urban Decay Vice 2 Eyeshadow Palette
I’ve been seeing the Urban Decay Holiday 2013 collection all over the Internet, and I’m so eager to get my hands on it! I have the first Vice palette (which I adore), but the Vice 2 palette from the Holiday 2013 collection is an absolute must-have this holiday season. Talk about getting dramatic and creating season-specific looks—this palette has it all! And if it’s anything like its predecessor, the Vice 2 shadows are likely to be highly pigmented and rich as can be. I predict this will be a holiday favorite for all.

LORAC Perfectly Lit Oil-Free Luminizing Powder
Just like the decorations of the season, holiday makeup is all about glitter, glow, and glamour! Since a lot of holiday makeup looks might include glittery lids and vibrant colors, it’s important to have just the right highlighter to complement and not overpower your festive look. My favorite highlighter for the season is the LORAC Perfectly Lit Oil-Free Luminizing Powder. It’s all glow, no shimmer—which I love! It comes in three different shades to choose from. This product is an extremely soft, velvety powder that blends into skin seamlessly. Many times a powder highlighter will just sit on top of the skin but this stuff will make you look lit from within!

Motives Gem Dust
It’s not glitter, it’s not shimmer, it's quite literally gem dust. The dust comes in two colors: 24k and Sterling. I love them both! This product is so incredible because it really has no texture at all once you apply it to skin.  With regular glitter shadows you can feel the little specks but with the Motives Gem Dust all you see—and feel—is a wash of glimmer. You can apply it by itself or over any shadow for a more subtle sparkle, or you can use the Motives Glitter Stick adhesive for a more concentrated, dripping-in-diamonds appearance! Unlike many other glitter products, the Gem Dust offers a more grown-up sparkle that’s perfect for holiday parties.

Bobbi Brown Twilight Pink Lip and Eye Palette
For the über sophisticated, this is the ultimate Holiday 2013 makeup palette! Just the perfect eyeshadow shades with just enough sparkle, and all the right lip colors to match. The Twilight Pink Lip and Eye Palette is a comprehensive kit that has everything you need to create a subtle but striking winter wonderland look. Day or night, create a beautiful holiday look with this harmonious selection of neutrals, both matte and shimmer. It’s a limited edition palette so get your hands on it while you can! My favorite shades are the shimmery plum and pewter shadows.

Tarte Clutch The Spirit Lipgloss Set & Clutch
It doesn’t get more festive than this! Spirit, Dash, Laugh, Play, Vixen, Dance, Sing, and Star are the eight gorgeous glosses in this holiday-inspired set by Tarte. If you’re not familiar with Tarte, get to know their products. They’re infused with nature’s best ingredients to turn their already beautiful makeup into good-for-you products. These rich glosses are packed with Maracuja, a mega moisturizer. Keep them for yourself or hand them out as stocking stuffers.
