UPDATE: After over a month of teasing, the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna line launched today, and we officially have to have everything.
With 40 shades of Fenty Beauty foundation, a retouch primer, 20 shades of her Matte Skinsticks to conceal, correct, and contour, and Shimmer sticks to highlight and blush, these products are created to blend and work with each other to help enhance your features. You can also snag various sized brushes, blotting papers, powder, and a single, universal lipgloss to get that Rihanna-on-the-red-carpet look.
With more than 91 variations of products available in the line, the celebrity's debut into the beauty world might be an issue for our wallets, but from the looks of everything, it's totally worth it.
As the (unofficial) final days of summer came to an end over the long weekend, Rihanna gave us something else to look forward to in it's place. The long-awaited campaign video for her upcoming Fenty Beauty cosmetics line debuted this weekend, and we are already in love. Not only does @Badgalriri advertise her first solo makeup venture like the boss she is, but she also uses the opportunity to celebrate diversity.
She's definitely living up to Fenty Beauty's "Beauty for All" tagline.
Despite the fact that 35 percent of American women are women of color, the beauty industry has continued to target and represent mainly white skintones. And while small steps have been taken by some cosmetics companies, people of color still remain highlty underrepresented.
But with Fenty Beauty's upcoming 40-shade foundation collection (yes, 40!!) and the diversity-filled teasers and advertisements that are gracing the internet, it's obvious Rihanna is doing what she does best and taking a stand in the chicest way possible.
With names like Hu$tle Baby, Chic Phreak, Ginger Binge, Trophy Wife, and Moscow Mule, there's no doubt that Rihanna's personality is all over this collection.
And as if we haven't been given reason enough to be excited, Fenty Beauty is beign developed by the same company that creates the formulas for Kat Von D and Marc Jacobs Beauty, so the formula odds are definitely in our favor. Honestly, there's no way a cosmetics line gets better than this, and we haven't even tried the products yet.
September 8 is the official launch, so we still have a few more days to wait. But we have a feeling that Rihanna will make it totally worth it!
