Clustered individual fake eyelashes are the best of both worlds. Full bands of false eyelashes can look unnatural and often require trimming to fit the eye perfectly, while individual fake eyelashes look much more natural, but are tedious and time-consuming to apply. Clustered falsies mix the convenience of full bands with the customization of individual lashes by allowing you to choose the length and placement, while still laying down multiple false eyelashes at a time. If you want to know how to get the perfect cluster lash application, check out this tutorial from makeup artist Danielle Stewart.
Follow these steps:
Before you start, decide which length is right for the look you want. We're going for a natural look, so this tutorial uses the two shortest lash lengths in the variety pack. For a more dramatic look, you can use longer lash clusters—just be sure to use at least two varying lash lengths for a seamless look. Then you can begin application.
1. Start with the longer lash size. Pick up a cluster with tweezers and dip the end lightly in eyelash glue, making sure to cover the lash band. Let glue dry to slightly tacky before applying to your lashline. Place the lash on the outer corner of your last lash, following the shape of your natural lashes. Continue to move inward with the same length of lashes until your reach the center of your lashline. We used KISS iEnvy Trio Lashes in Short, $6, and Ardell Duo Lash Adhesive in Clear, $5.99.
2. Now you switch to the shorter lash clusters. Use the same technique in Step 1, placing the shorter clusters from the center of your lashline to the inner corner of your eye. Depending on your eye shape, you should be able to fit 2-3 clusters in this space.
3. Wait for the lash glue to dry clear, then gently test that the lashes are applied securely by running a mascara wand through them. If lashes are secure, go ahead and coat with mascara. We used MAC Extended Play Lash in Endlessly Black, $18.
4. Apply gel eyeliner with an angled eyeliner brush to hide and unevenness along the lash line. We used Inglot AMC Gel Eyeliner in 77, $15.
Feel free to experiment with length and placement until you perfect your false lash look!
