Can You Use Nail Wraps...

Can You Use Nail Wraps on Acrylic Nails?

Nail wraps allow you to add fun patterns and designs to your nails with more ease than polish, but can they be used with your acrylic nails?

There is something about having long, painted acrylic nails that just helps us feel good, right? It's a fun way to express our feelings and personality—but many of us discover quickly that trying to recreate the polished look on our acrylic nails isn't as easy as the salon techs make it seem. We're guessing that's why there's been a huge increase in nail wraps—vinyl sheets that you pressure heat to apply to your nails in one go—because it allows you to rock those intricate designs with relative ease.

But, if you rely on acrylic nails to keep the length you want, can you use the nail wraps on top of them to make intracite manicures a cinch?

Turns out, nail wraps can safely be used on acrylic nails and applying and removing the wraps can be done following the same steps for natural nails. If your acrylic nails have already been painted with polish, you can apply the nail wraps right on top, provided the nail polish isn't chipping, and your new design can last up to 10 days.

Yolanda Quintero from B2V Salon in Beverly Hills, California, who has worked with celebrities like Kate Winslet, Cher, Diana Ross, Janet Jackson, and Bette Midler, says nail wraps can also be useful if you've removed your acrylics and your natural nails have been damaged. She suggests using them to help hold the nails together while your natural nail grows out.

There are a lot of different brands offering nail wraps and with the variety of colors, patterns and designs, using them is an easy and fun way to show off your personal style without having to spend lots of money for polish changes at the salon. So go ahead and have the best of both worlds—long, strong nails and no pesky painting!
