4th of July Nails: Stars and Stripes Forever

Show your patriotic spirit with 4th of July nails. This nail art tutorial shows you how to wear this look two different ways, depending on your style and skill level.

Easy or Advanced 4th of July Nail Art

July is such a patriotic month, and one of the best parts (for me!) is 4th of July nails! My cute red-white-and-blue outfit just doesn't feel finished without a red-white-and-blue nail art design.

These are the supplies I used for this nail art: Orly Base and Top Coat, Orly Terracotta (red), Orly Blue Collar (blue), It's So Easy Stripe Rite White (white) and a large dotting tool. I love how these colors complement each other so well! You can mix and match your own red, white, and blue polishes, but do make sure you have a fine nail art brush or striping tool to apply the white. Here's how to get the look:

Easy or Advanced 4th of July Nail Art

1. Clean off all your nails and apply a clear base coat to get your nails ready for this design.

2. Apply blue nail polish to your thumbs and pointer fingers. Paint your other nails with red polish. Let dry.

3. Take your large dotting tool and apply five dots to both your thumbs and pointer fingers the way they'd be arranged on a die. With your White Easy Striper, apply three stripes to all your other nails by placing the striper on one side of your nail and rolling your finger. This is the best way to get straight and even lines. If you are a beginner, you can stop at this step and apply a finishing top coat.

4. For a more advanced look, take your White Easy Striper and carefully apply five points to each dot to create a star. This takes a steady hand and a little more time. Let dry before applying a top coat.

Here's a Pin-able version with all the steps and a finished image. Happy holiday!
