On liking bold hues
“I am from Pakistan, where people love color, and the traditional wedding dress is red. Mine was fuchsia, orange and chartreuse. Although I do wear neutrals, particularly black, I usually try to add at least a spot of color, like my yellow Sona Mimosa clutch [$150;].”

On telling it like it is
“I’m not aiming to win a popularity contest. I’ve always been direct, but at 40, I turned it up a notch.”

On her anti-aging strategy
“I believe in maintenance. I use Santa Maria Novella Regenerative Serum [$245;] and Obagi Nu-Derm Sunshield SPF 50 [$48;]. I get regular facials and peels. And I’m Botox free now, but down the road I’ll probably try injectables.”

On her surprising after-hours attire
“My husband hates my flannel PJs, but I’ll never get rid of them. My ideal evening is putting on my pajamas, then eating dinner at 6 pm with my kids and a glass of Malbec.”
