Sephora's New...

Sephora's New Hygge Skincare Line Will Help You Find Your Balance

Skincare specialist Ole Henriksen is using his new line to incorporate "hygge." Read on to see what this cozy trend is all about.

The Danish concept of relaxation and being wholly content with your surroundings, AKA "Hygge," is slowly trickling into the United States, and we couldn't be happier. Basically, it's the art of appreciating the little things and being cozy. Who's not down for that?

In a world of fast-paced everything, where stress and anxiety tend to roam free, we're all looking to incorporate a little more Hygge (pronounced "hue-gah") into every area of our lives possible, and Sephora's new skincare line is helping us do just that.

Balance Skincare

Creator of the line and skincare specialist Ole Henriksen has relaunched all his products at Sephora this month, but this time he is including an additional set titled, "Balance." With an invigorating Eucalyptus scent and plenty of calming ingredients, the Balance products are focused on centering both you and your skin and switching your mindset to appreciating the beauty of what your body and skin can do.

"You need to turn your beauty into an indulgent moment," Henriksen told Refinery 29. "Go into the bathroom, warm the cleanser between your palms, close your eyes, and center yourself for just 30 seconds. Very little time has passed, but nonetheless you feel more relaxed and you feel you are doing something great for your skin."

Henriksen really emphasized this concept for those who struggle with breakouts and acne, too.

"There is no doubt that when you see skin erupted, you panic, you get frustrated, and you are hard on yourself," he told Refinery 29. "You tend to get impatient and expect results overnight, but you need to see the beauty in your face and recognize the healing and transformative powers of the skin—then make a commitment to change."

The Balance line will include an oil control cleanser ($25), a mattifying moisturizing créme ($40), and an oil control hydrator ($34) and can be found on Sephora's website.

Regardless of what we're doing, we could all take a lesson and incorporate a little more Hygge into our everyday lives, and our skin regimen is the perfect place to start.
