Over the years, city rankings have tipped us off to the best places to live according to health, fitness, sleep, crime rates, pet friendliness, dating scenes and all sorts of other categories. Now here’s one that’s truly important: the best cities for your skin.

The Daily Glow beauty blog looked at nationwide stats including skin cancer rates, dermatologists per capita and climate data to create the list.

“Where you live has a huge influence on your skin’s health and appearance,” Dr. Jessica Wu, an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, tells the site. “While most of us wouldn’t move to another state just for the sake of our skin, you can reduce your odds of skin cancer and premature aging by taking more precautions if you live in a high-risk area.”

So where can you possibly look younger longer? Portland, Oregon, comes in tops, thanks to low pollution and ozone rates. It’s followed by San Francisco, Seattle, Baltimore, Chicago, Honolulu, Boston, New York City, Milwaukee and Austin, Texas.

The worst city for your skin, according to the Daily Glow? Las Vegas, which has a lot of smokers, is high and dry and has a lot of high-ozone days each year.

Hey, it’s not called “Sin City” for nothin’.
