The fashion world lost a “champion of women” January 23 with the death of Charla Krupp.

The New York Daily News reports the best-selling author of How Not to Look Old and How to Never Look Fat Again died of breast cancer at age 58.

Krupp’s husband, Richard Zoglin, a theater critic for Time, called his wife both a champion of women and “an amazing life force,” according to the newspaper.

Krupp, a frequent fashion-segment contributor on Today, also worked in magazines, including Glamour, InStyle, Shop Etc. and People StyleWatch.

Thank you, Charla, for getting us out of our mom jeans and granny panties and away from too-dark lipstick and cakey foundation. You—and your witty yet firm and always spot-on advice—will be missed.
