Cold Feet at Altar Could Mean Divorce Down the Road

Study finds couples were more likely to end a marriage if they were off to a jittery start

Did you have cold feet before your wedding? Uh-oh. You may want to get a divorce attorney on speed dial.

We already know that more than 60 percent of nearly-marrieds get the jitters before saying “I do,” but MSN reports a study finds that folks who had cold feet ended up with higher divorce rates than those who didn’t.

“Taken together, the results indicate that premarital doubts are not simply an instance of feeling anxious before a major event or something to be worked through, but a sign of possible trouble ahead,” the researchers write, according to the network.

That Runaway Bride movie plot doesn’t seem quite so silly now, does it?
