A new study out of Tel Aviv University finds that when dieters add dessert to a balanced breakfast, they lose more weight and keep it off, according to a release from the school.
It’s all about getting your indulgences in early, giving you time to burn off those sweet treats over the course of the day, the researchers say in the release.
During the 32-week-long study, folks who ate cookies, cake or chocolate with the rest of their breakfast lost, on average, 40 pounds more than a group told to avoid desserts, the release notes.
