Eating too many calories? Maybe your bites are too big.
Good Morning America reports that research out of Arizona State University has found that when study participants ate a bagel cut into four pieces, they consumed 25 percent less at lunch than those who had eaten a whole bagel.
“Cutting up energy-dense meal foods into smaller pieces may be beneficial to dieters who wish to make their meal more satiating while also maintaining portion control,” the study’s lead author, Devina Wadhera, said in a news release reported by the news show.
If only you could cut up a pint of Ben & Jerry’s.
