The Best-Dressed Women on TV

They’re lawyers and socialites. City councillors and country singers. They dabble in devilish behavior, produce Broadway spectaculars and have kicked up their heels in a music video or two. Yes, TV’s most stylish stars may have unique job skills, but one thing they have in common? Incredible fashion sense. Here’s a look at the best-dressed characters on the small screen.

Julianna Margulies, 'The Good Wife'

Alicia Florrick knows her way around a courtroom – and, apparently, a high-end boutique, too. Margulies’ attorney/politician's wife may struggle with her love life, but she gets no strife from the Fendi blazer she wears here (Rena Lange, Armani and Michael Kors are also clothing staples). The verdict? We’d go to court for a shot at winning her wardrobe.

CBS

Christine Baranski, 'The Good Wife'

That Lockhart Gardner is one well-dressed law firm. Baranski’s Diane Lockhart knows how to win a suit – and totally work a suit – with fab fashions from the likes of Ferragamo, Escada and Givenchy. Best-dressed woman on TV? Guilty!

CBS

Madeleine Stowe, 'Revenge'

Victoria Grayson, Stowe’s scary Hamptons socialite, flaunts her riches with a wealth of couture. Valentino, Vera Wang and Roland Mouret are just some of her faves. Bad never looked so good.

ABC

Connie Britton, 'Nashville'

Rayna James, Britton’s country star headliner-turned-opening-act, is still a fashion standout in looks that range from more affordable (pretty tops from Joie and Equipment, moto jackets from Forever 21, J Brand jeans) to high-end (Dolce & Gabbana – shown here, Versace). And, sure, she may enjoy a cowboy boot, but she also wears Prada. To that, we can’t help but shout, yee-haw!

ABC

LisaRaye McCoy, 'Single Ladies'

Keisha, McCoy’s sexy single on the VH1 hit, has curves and she’s not afraid to show ‘em. Clad in pencil skirts and blouses, fitted dresses and glamorous gowns from designers including RACHEL Rachel Roy, Catherine Malandrino and DL 1961 denim, Keisha knows how to get attention – in a very, very good way.

VH1

Ellen Barkin, 'The New Normal'

Barkin’s character, the very un-PC Nana, wouldn’t dare be caught in anything other than a socialite-approved power suit (all the better if it’s bright red), expensive jewelry and freshly blown-out hair. Cocktail and pistols as accessories, optional.

NBC

Sofia Vergara, 'Modern Family'

Vergara’s sassy Gloria can’t help but ooze sex appeal, no matter what she’s wearing – be it a Pea in the Pod wrap dresses (she’s pregnant on the show this season), Roberto Cavali, Diane von Furstenberg or Dolce & Gabbana. Gloria also sports less expensive pieces from Bebe and Cache, and even from Vergara’s line for Kmart. One must? Sky-high heels. You go, Gloria.

ABC

Vanessa Williams, '666 Park Avenue'

The devilish Olivia Duran, played by the stunning Williams, oozes high-class in designs by Alexander McQueen, J. Mendel (shown here), Fendi and Roland Mouret. Not to mention Carmen Marc Valvo, Yves Saint Laurent and Victoria Beckham. We’d sell our soul for those styles, too.

ABC

Angelica Huston, 'Smash'

Houston’s tough as nails Eileen is bound and determined to get her Marilyn Monroe musical to the Broadway stage, and does so wearing chic New York-friendly black suits and dresses. It’s a hit!

ABC

Amy Poehler, 'Parks & Recreation'

She may be a city councillor in the small town of Pawnee, Ind., but Leslie Knope, Poehler’s lovable character, still manages to add a little fashion flair to her conservative wardrobe. Dark pantsuits paired with blouses featuring feminine touches (Polka dots! A big bow! Subtle ruffles)? She gets our vote.

NBC

Linda Gray and Brenda Strong, 'Dallas'

You wouldn’t expect a reboot of ‘80s fashion fave Dallas to feature anything less than amazing style, now would ya’ll? Gray, back as Sue Ellen Ewing, wears fur coats (who cares if it’s hot in Texas?!), Elaine Kim jackets, Escada dresses and Vince leather pants. And Strong, playing Bobby’s new wife, Ann, exudes confidence in classic styles from Helmet Lang, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. Who knew there was such high fashion on the ranch?
