Villa Rentals in Europe, New England and the Caribbean

Villa rental companies in Provence, France; Nantucket, New England; and the Caribbean

So you say you’ve always wanted to buy a second home in Spain or pass the summer in an unfamiliar locale. These three villa-rental companies offer great places to stay — from the south of France to the New England coast — that feel like home and allow you to test-drive a new lifestyle.
Provence
With its rolling hills, family bistros, and vibrant farmers’ markets, the French countryside is one of the most popular villa-vacation destinations, and Ville et Village (www.villeetvillage.com) rents out some of its best properties. For instance, La Bergerie is set in an olive orchard in Paradou, with an outdoor pool and a sauna in the master bathroom. Weekly rates start at $1,200 for a two-bedroom villa from June through September. The company also has rentals in Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
Nantucket
If an East Coast beach escape is high on your wish list, try Country Village Rentals (www.cvrandr.com), which specializes in Nantucket homes, from beachfront bungalows to three-bedroom colonials. Can’t get a last-minute dinner reservation in Nantucket Town on a Saturday night? Your Country Village concierge can arrange it. Weekly summer and fall rates start at $2,500 for a two-bedroom house.
The Caribbean
Book a villa with Wimco (www.wimco.com) and you can also get a personal chef, in-villa masseuse, and private trainer. Those are just some of the amenities the company offers guests at its 1,200 villas in the Caribbean. If you book now for autumn, you can save with off-season specials — weekly rates start at $2,800 from mid April to mid December — on properties such as Bell’Mare, a new villa on secluded Dawn Beach in Saint Maarten.
