When I was ten I wanted to be a writer, and even picked a pen name. By age twelve, I decided to become a doctor and spent the next eighteen years accomplishing that. After I finished training, I worked part-time and raised two sons, one of whom is severely autistic and unable to speak. When my elder son left for college, I went back to my first love, writing, and wrote and self-published a sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Within six months an agent had contacted me and I signed with him and subsequently sold my book to a publisher, which will release a revised version in September. I am now working on the next book in the series, giving book talks and having the time of my life! And yes, I did use the pen name I decided on at age ten: C. Allyn Pierson!
