I have always wanted to visit New Orleans, and this past weekend I surprised my husband with a trip for his birthday. I had no idea that in addition to the amazing food, history and antiquing there would also be a fashion show waiting for us in the French Quarter.
After an earth-shattering oyster lunch at Acme, I bumped in to Pam Seidman, VP of Public Relations forExpress. She told me that she was hosting a Rock the Sidewalk fashion show a few blocks away and invited me and my husband to come.
Models and photographers were flown in from New York and a runway was constructed on Dumaine Street. After the show the models, audience and band marched to Preservation Hall, where the festivities continued late into the night. The spirit of the fun, sexy, cool fall collection was a perfect match for the French Quarter. Lincoln Center may have upstaged Bryant Park in New York City, but they just can’t compete with the Big Easy. It was great to see fashion support the New Orleans economy. Express also made a generous donation to the New Orleans chapter of Dress for Success.
