Dysfunction never looked so decadent as in this Aussie drama about a dying matriarch—the sublime Charlotte Rampling—and her circling acolytes (greedy children and devious employees). The impeccable Judy Davis, below left with Rampling, and Geoffrey Rush play damaged siblings who care more about their possible inheritance than family ties. Rampling presides over the movie’s stellar cast like an imperious grande dame de théâtre.
