When I interviewed Josie Natori for our Woman of Style and Substance column (April 2009), she was in the middle of putting the finishing touches on her new perfume. Being the fragrance junkie that I am, I asked if I could take a few sniffs. Natori was more than happy to oblige, and we got to talking about the very interesting process of developing a fragrance.
Now I am happy to report that the scent has launched—and it’s wonderful. A mix of sparkling aldehydes, rose, plum, ylang-ylang and purple peony, it’s ultra-feminine without being too sweet. It’s soft, subtle and elegant, much like the designer’s clothes (think of silk satin in saturated colors), and seems like a very grown-up fragrance. $110 for 3.4 oz and $80 for 1.7 oz. Available exclusively at Saks.com until November.
