I WILL wear more color.

I WILL get my clothes tailored.

A good tailor will be able to tweak your clothes JUST SO, and make them fit your body best. That’s me in the photo, wearing a dress I transformed form long and dowdy into short and chic. In Tailoring We Trust

I WILL buy a fabulous face-framing blouse.

You spend so much time being viewed from the waist up (sitting at a restaurant, sitting at a conference room table), the least you can do is shine style light on what the world sees. Diane von Furstenberg Narita silk top, $210; saks.com

I WILL switch out my handbags so they better go with my outfits.

Don’t be lazy. It takes two minutes to dump from one bag and fill another. It’s a prominent accessory that packs style punch. Anya Hindmarch Calfskin Tote, $995; bloomingdales.com Best Bags

I WILL throw out all of my old, faded, worn out bras and panties.

I’ve been in the gym locker room, ladies, and I know what you’re wearing. Not only is it unsightly, but old undergarments give you no support. Please, you’re old enough now to know better. Hanky Panky signature lace bralette, $46; shopbop.com 10 Must-Have Undergarments

I WILL never wear nude pantyhose again.

They are never right, always wrong. The world of hose is a huge one, and surely you can find something else that works, no matter what the outfit. Hue Super Opaque Tights, $12.50; bloomingdales.com Tights You Can Actually Wear

I WILL buy a few pieces of chic workout wear.

Not because it’ll make you look better, although it WILL, but because it’ll make you feel better. And make you more likely to spend time working out. My new fave? Lululemon. So chic, so comfy, huge selection of styles and sizes. Lululemon Athletica Groove Pant *R, $98; lululemon.com The Best Workout Gear

I WILL take advantage of after-holiday sales.

Buy a great coat, a pair of tall boots (in black or brown, your choice), and a beautiful pair of tailored trousers. And that’s just for starters. Take advantage of this time-it’s a great opportunity to buy really good clothes at steeply discounted prices. Christian Louboutin tall Leather Boots, $1, 450; saks.com

I WILL accessorize.

I love belts, scarves, and great bags, but al who know me can attest that I am a massive lover of jewelry, most especially costume (faux) jewelry. Pile it on-strands of beads, an armload of bangles, one gigantic cocktail ring, and add life to all your favorite basics.
