DIY Style: Make Your Own Embellished Sandals

Jazz up your summer sandals with a bit of embellishment that's easy on the eyes—and your budget!

DIY Embellished Sandals

Embellished sandals are on track to be a fashion favorite this summer. Recently spotted on Julia from Gal Meets Glam, these Tory Burch Sydney Flat Sandals instantly captured our attention! A bright white is a perfect complement for any summer outfit, and the green jewels offer a bit of unexpected color. In addition to pairing these with a printed dress as Julia does, we can see these sandals being some of the most versatile pieces in your closet. Think: white jeans, destroyed denim boyfriend shorts, high-waisted skirts—the possibilities are endless. Here's how to create your own embellished sandals.

Supplies:

  • Colored jewels
  • White sandals with toe strap
  • E6000 Glue
  • 1 Wooden dowel

DIY Embellished Sandals

1. Begin your embellished sandals DIY by collecting various-sized colored jewels. Place your jewels in different designs until you select a pattern tol put on the toe strap. For our design, we placed the largest jewel in the middle and worked out to the sides with gradually smaller jewels.

2. Place a dab of E600 glue on a separate work area such as Kraft paper or a paper plate. Using a wooden dowel, coat the end of the stick and apply a generous amount of glue on the back of a jewel.

3. Secure the jewel with E6000 glue firmly on the toe strap. Hold the jewel and strap firmly between your thumb and index finger to set the glue. Repeat with each bead until the design is completely adhered to the sandal strap. Repeat on the opposite sandal. Instant bling!

Here's a Pin-able version with all the steps and a finished image.
