The New Way to Wear White

The New Way to Wear White

Lightweight white fabrics have never looked so fresh. Here's how to wear them this spring.

No doubt about it: The color white is a wardrobe staple. As we say goodbye to the cool winter months, it's time to pack away our wool and cashmere winter whites and replace them with something a little lighter and fresher. This spring, the new way to wear the color is with delicate, light fabrics, such as lace, chiffon, silk, and linen. Ready to incorporate flowy lightweight whites into your wardrobe? Here are two of my favorite ways to wear white for spring.

Do not fear the white pant, because a pant in a great cut can go a long way! For a dressy look, find a wide leg pair in a silk or linen. The silhouette is instantly slimming you and keeps you looking polished. I paired my high-waisted wide leg pant with a cropped knit sweater and a statement necklace for a chic look. Choose a heel with a little lift to get the most movement out of your wide leg pant.

Denim and white are the perfect match, especially for a casual everyday look! Create a breezy outfit by pairing a lightweight chiffon or lace blouse with a pair of denim cutoffs. The delicate top balances out the rugged bottom to give you a good play on textures. Finish off the look with some cutout booties or a d'orsay flat.

I started my blog, Stiletto Beats, in 2010 as an assignment for my Fashion Journalism class and quickly fell in love. After years of blogging about fashion news and inspirations I decided to take it to the next level, incorporating my daily outfits and personal life. A little about me? Well, I love bunnies, eat way too much candy and love to write sappy quotes about life, love and surviving my quarter life crisis in Los Angeles. Stiletto Beats is my fashion diary dedicated to anyone who has experienced the happiness that comes from the perfect pair of shoes or the perfect song on a not-so-perfect day.
