Steve Madden's Iconic '90s Black Sandals Are BACK

This year is all about reliving the '90s, and Steve Madden's most throwback item of them all is coming (back) for your closet.

It's official. This year is all about reliving the '90s, and arguably the most throwback item of them all is coming (back) for your closet.

Steve Madden has just re-released its iconic slinky flatform sandal, and we're welcoming its return with open arms and excited feet.

Don't just take our word on its popularity, though. The platform slide was seen on basically any girl who was anybody in its heyday, and the comfy, yet heavy, sandals skyrocketed Steve Madden shoes to the top of the must-have list for teenagers.

Honestly, while we're insanely stoked about the return of this truly legendary shoe, we can't say we're surprised. Between the comeback of chunky-heeled sandals and Spice Girls-esque flatforms in the past few years, it was only a matter of time before the brand brought back the beloved classic.

And in case you were worried, unlike a lot of the other throwback trends that have been altered for modern times, our favorite slinky sandal is back in all of it's OG glory. The only changes from being an exact replica of the early beloved flatform slide are a couple of very subtle and very practical changes to the design. This includes having the entire heel lay flat and the top outer edge being made into a smoother finish in the 2017 version.

If you want to get your hands (and feet!) on the 2017, 2.0 slinky flatform, they're available for preorder on the Steve Madden website. They go for $69.95 a pair and are expected to ship out in early July. TBH though, we're ready for them RN. So if you were one of the many who kept the original sandals from the glory days, it's officially safe to dig them out of the back corners of your closet.

Your (stylish) secret will be safe with us.
