French Fashion in Philadelphia

This April, discover Parisian chic in Philly as the city presents a runway show during its brand new Festival of the Arts. Totally lose yourself in the fashion fantasy courtesy of a reproduced Eiffel Tower (oh la la!)

He has written for magazines and television for many years, is the author of two books, and he has been a radio host, an actor, a producer and a director. He also happens to be one of the funniest people on the planet, and he has a heart of gold (and no, this is NOT a Lifetime movie...he’s the real deal). Now he’s adding budding fashionista to the mix, and we couldn’t be happier. Without further ado, we introduce Reality Fashion's first guest blogger:

If you’ve always wanted to check out Fashion Week in Paris but can never manage to swing it, the City of Brotherly Love offers an enticing alternative with a Paris-inspired runway show on April 8th. As part of its first-ever, three-week long Philadelphia Festival of the Arts, nine top area designers and the city’s most promising students will showcase their work under an 81-foot, light-up Eiffel Tower in the city’s spectacular Kimmel Center Commonwealth Plaza. Couture designer and Philadelphia native Ralph Rucci will be on hand to receive the Visionary Award for Fashion. And if watching all those long, lean models strut their stuff makes you hungry, a French bistro-style buffet from Wolfgang Puck catering is being served up nearby at the newly restored Academy of Music Ballroom.

You won’t get your passport stamped but it’s a lot more affordable than a trip to Paris and also won’t have to put up with Kate Moss smoking in your face, either. (Supported by PIFA) Learn more at, follow PIFA on Twitter or "Like" us on Facebook.
