3 Ways to Wear It: How to Style a Chiffon Maxi Skirt

Versatility is everything when you're considering a clothing purchase. With a few style tweaks, I made a flowy chiffon maxi skirt work a little harder in my wardrobe. Here's how you can, too.

My favorite skirt has always been a flowy chiffon maxi. They are light and airy and can be appropriate for many occasions. Whether dressing them up for a day at the office or down for a day of shopping, this light fabric can make any outfit look effortlessly chic. Here are three ways I like to style a chiffon maxi.

The first look (left) is what I would wear to work or to a cocktail date night. I paired my blue maxi with a black top and a tailored blazer to give this look some structure. I added a colorful statement necklace and some chic lace up heels for added interest.

The next look (middle) is what I would wear out to a casual day of shopping or lunch. I love wearing headbands, and this outfit was no exception. This velvet headband is perfect paired with a simple black top and my chiffon maxi. A pop of color with my Kate Spade bag is the perfect accessory when I'm on the go.

Lastly, is an outfit (right) that I would wear for a day walking around outside or to watch a baseball game during Spring Training. I sunburn easily so why not cover those arms up with a thin long sleeve top and wide brimmed fedora for the face? I tucked my shirt in to cinch in my waist and added a casual brown braided belt.

Love the look of flowy chiffon? Here are some of my favorite pieces at the moment.
