Desk to Date: Colored Tights

Colored tights can take an outfit from day to evening, and they can bridge the seasons from winter to spring. Try adding an unexpected pop of color--like oxblood--to your look. It's neutral enough for work yet fun for date night. They're also versatile: Colorful stockings can be paired with a dress, skirt, or even a pair of leather shorts. From soft grays to bright pinks to patterns, this trend is one to try. Pop on a pair of these bright bad-boys, and you are guaranteed to turn heads. Here are two ways I like to wear colored tights.

I kept my desk look (on the left) professional, pairing an oversize top with a tight leopard midi skirt to balance out the shape. I accessorized with a chunky white necklace, basic black bag, and booties. I love how the oxblood tights bring the outfit come together, yet add an eclectic touch.

For my date look (right), I went with a playful blue floral dress. I love the cinched waist, because it creates a flattering silhouette. The long sleeves are perfect for this time of year. I played up the color with a mustard purse and burgundy floppy hat. This outfit is ideal for happy hour with your hubby or girlfriends.

Next time you are in a boring-outfit bind, throw on some colorful tights to give your look punch!
