Get The Look: Your Holiday Outfit Guide For Every Activity

Whether you’re prepping to kick back at your annual Thanksgiving get-together at grandma’s house or are bracing yourself for your first Christmas with your S.O.,we’ve got your complete holiday outfit guide that will get you through the season looking absolutely fabulous.

While we all suffer from the seasonal exhaustion due to being spread so thin from November through January, we also know the sheer excitement—alright, and the struggle—of having to plan Instagram-worthy occasions back to back. Never fear dear friend, because we did the hard part for you and are unveiling our complete outfit guide for the holiday season’s biggest events.

You’re welcome.

1. YOUR TURKEY DAY ATTIRE

Let’s be real here: Though we’re always looking for a style moment, Thanksgiving has always and will always be about total comfort. As much fun as wearing our cute tight-fitting skirt or brand new turtleneck bodysuit, this surely is not the day.

That’s why we’re going comfy chic with this oversized-everything look. The cozy outfit of our dreams pairs these Zara distressed jeans with this gorgeous brick colored knit sweater with burnished grommets on the shoulders, you know, for extra style points. Because it’s November, we thought adding on a cozy knit scarf for warmth was fitting, yes, but obviously it will serve as a makeshift blanket to aide your post-meal nap, too. And last but not least, these leopard print ballet flats are a nice addition to keep your style in check while the rest of you is busy having zero boundaries at the dessert table. It’s all about balance.

Scarf: $14, Target

2. YOUR COMFY-CHIC LOOK

Ah, yes—the shopping holiday that has shamelessly made its way onto our day planners in big pink highlighter is a day that we want to look stylish enough to peruse the sale racks like a true mall-maven and yet comfortable enough to sprint to the checkout line in complete efficiency. Cozy and stylish is our motto on Black Friday, because a girl’s gotta look good while she shops till she drops.

This fleece pullover is literally what we dream about—no really, can we get this in pillow form? You’ll want something that’s comfortable enough to run around town in and yet easy enough to take off in a hurry in your dressing rooms, as you have a very tight schedule to attend to. Pair it with some distressed denim and a stylish pair of Adidas sneakers to keep your comfort level in check. Top the look off with a cozy blanket scarf to keep you warm while you dart from parking lot to department store entrance and you can consider yourself a serious Black Friday force to be reckoned with.

Fleece Pullover: $78, Nordstrom
Jeans: $80, Topshop
Sneakers: $85, Nordstrom
Plaid Scarf: $25, Modcloth

3. YOUR FORMAL ATTIRE

One of the hardest holiday events to dress for, the annual office Christmas party time and time again proves to be the dreaded get together filled with mediocre finger foods and spending far too much time stressing over your outfit. Though there are some basic rules for office party attire: avoid anything too low-cut, too short, or too tight—it certainly doesn’t mean you have to leave your fashionable sense of style at home.

The star of the show in this look is this emerald A-line green midi skirt that is silky smooth and will make a bold statement without having to rock the traditional red. To keep things simple and sophisticated, we paired the skirt with a white cropped sweater that is both slim fitting and timeless. The blank canvas allows for some glitz and glam on the accessories front, so we added the crystal statement necklace and the emerald teardrop earrings. The platinum shimmer Vince Camuto heels are an elegant touch but all eyes will be glued to that feather detailed statement clutch that is truly old Hollywood glamour in the flesh.

4. YOUR CHRISTMAS BEST

Christmas dinner is a time to celebrate the day we prepare for basically all year long, if not for any other reason than the sole fact that our holiday shopping is finally complete. Nevertheless, you’ll still want your outfit to be elegant so we wanted to add some femininity with a touch of timeless class.

This floral silk blouse is fun and feminine, and adds a hint of holiday flair with the red accents while the black flowy skirt paired with the scarlet crystal embellished pumps adds an elegance to this fashionable look. And lastly, these gold double hoop earrings are the perfect subtle accessory that will spruce up your look without drawing too much attention away from the rest of the stunning ensemble.

Skirt: $1,320, Nordstrom
Heels: $170, Nordstrom
Earrings: $28, Bauble Bar

5. YOUR PARTY OUTFIT

The holiday to pull out all the stops, New Year’s Eve is a night where the streets are literally your runway. Whether you’re heading to a big fancy ball, or small soiree, or a romantic dinner date, you’ll want a look that is both sexy and stylish, while showcasing all the sparkles.

This long-sleeved sequin jumpsuit is weather appropriate and so fashion-forward. The metallic sequins at the bodice give this look the holiday seal of approval, while the high-waisted style of the jumpsuit offers a sleek and flattering fit. Any girl can rock a sparkly dress to the cocktail party, but not everyone can rock a sequin jumpsuit like you can. Because this is the holiday that doesn’t hold back, we paired the outfit with these fun and fringy strappy heels, because #NYE. Channeling the holiday hangover, we aren’t quite ready to give up that deep wine accent color, so we incorporated these super fun tassel fringe earrings and a sequin clutch bag that most definitely will give the New Year’s Eve ball drop a run for its money.

Black Heels: $68, Topshop
Earrings: $48, Nordstrom
Clutch: $56, Asos
