I stood up then and went over to the mirror. I tried to insert the chip of tooth back into place, but it fell right out and I saw what my smile looked like: old. I am getting old. I can only hope that I’m healthy enough to continue on this path; I can only pray more teeth slip from their sockets and my body grows wizened and wise. If I’m lucky, my path will be so long that on my way I’ll lose more and more pieces of myself to the scalpel of time; if I’m blessed, I’ll recall my losses with love.

My sister had breast cancer,
My sister had breast cancer, and since I am the big sister she asked what kind of treatment she should do. I told her that we had to pray about it, and God would tell us. I am proud to say that my sister has been cancer free for 5 years.
It inspired me to start a blog on women of a certain age. Please take a look at "thisisyourbestyear". Hope you enjoy, and will pass it on.
