You don’t need to, says a study from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. Many people think they’re improving their health by eating packaged low-fat foods that compensate for reduced taste by jacking up refined carbs. But instead of trying to cut down on all fats, swap saturated fats such as butter for healthier polyunsaturated fats such as vegetable oil. When study subjects followed this diet change, they reduced their risk of developing heart disease by an impressive 10 percent.
